Founded in 2013 by Hunter Walk and Satya Patel, Homebrew is a San Francisco-based venture capital firm managing over $175 million across funds. Its 2018 fund totaled $90 million, and as of 2024, the firm is developing a $50 million fund. Investments in Controlled Environment Agriculture

Homebrew’s 2017 seed investment in Bowery Farming marked its entry into controlled environment agriculture. Bowery, a vertical farming company using automation and data analytics, later secured a $20 million Series A round with Homebrew’s continued participation. This aligns with the firm’s strategy of backing technology-driven solutions for traditional sectors like agriculture.
